Hello again,
Here’s a quick update on Project Discovery:
Aubrey made an impression on an architect and interior designer in New Mexico. They have visited his site, contacted him, and continue to give him resources and encouragement.
Drake’s bake sales pulled in over $570 for the Illinois CancerCare Foundation
Brett “the cat man” updated his blog today with a MONSTER upgrade story of his first cat. His hilarious page has over 2,000 views.
Caleb has raised $265 to World Vision and is now linked with an administrator for the organization.
Aja has just passed the 100 can hurdle for her Community Harvest Church Food Pantry.
Kennedy’s hair products will be for sale at Eli’s this Saturday from 11-1.
Chloe’s cheer bows site has now garnished over 1500 views, and she is now linked up with the vice president of the Hearts of Illinois Down’s Syndrome foundation.
Sam recently completed her 20 for 20 challenge in which she ran one mile a day for 20 days. Her last run was her best run with a mile time of 10:17.
Spencer and Dawson are guest blogging on each other’s pages and commenting on reviews of popular video games.
Amanda has updated a stock of photos for her digital photography gallery.
Jillian has had over 3,000 views to her page and has raised over $200 selling rubber band bracelets for St. Jude. She’ll be selling them at Eli’s this Saturday from 11-1.
Lauren is having a Pizza Ranch fundraiser on Saturday March 1st from 11-3 where proceeds go to raising funds for the MJHS drumline.
Hannah will be traveling to Bloomington this weekend with the MJHS girls volleyball team to document their tournament. She’s going to be updating her page with pictures from the games.
Zach is preparing for the up-and-coming turkey season. Head on over to his page for everything a hunter needs.
Logan has had consistent viewers on his page since February 10th.
The following kids have met a 1000 view benchmark for their page:
Kate on the paleo diet
Travis on video game design
And Drew on sports news

For more updates, you can register for email updates on my blog HERE, or visit our project portal homepage HERE.
Our project is winding down. We’ll soon start to twist the project into a 5-minute informative presentation. Students will present their page to their peers in an attempt to show-and-tell all about it. Finalists will be selected then and students will be invited to upgrade their presentations into a 10-minute presentation to be presented to the community on March 27th.
On March 27th, from 5 to 7 o’clock, MJHS will open its doors to the community for a project symposium. More information about this will be coming soon.
Sincerely,
Ben VandenBerg
